Your Orgasmic Response Can Be Learned, Accessed, and Strengthened

Orgasmic Learning is a framework for understanding evidence-supported ways women may learn, strengthen, or gain greater access to orgasmic response.

Six Evidence-Supported Pathways to Orgasmic Access

Research involving women with orgasm difficulty suggests that orgasmic response can be learned or accessed through more than one route.

1

Medical Cannabis

Research spanning more than 50 years includes reports of women learning to orgasm while using cannabis and later retaining that ability without it. Cannabis may influence sensory, cognitive, emotional, and physiological processes involved in orgasm. Both Suzanne Mulvehill, PhD, and Genester Wilson-King, MD, have conducted research on cannabis and female orgasm.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis has a long history as a treatment approach for female orgasm difficulty and, by 1983, was identified as one of the major treatment models for primary orgasmic dysfunction. More recent research has demonstrated hypnotically induced orgasm accompanied by measurable physiological changes associated with orgasm, including increased prolactin and characteristic pelvic-floor contractions.

3

Fantasy & Imagery

Fantasy, guided imagery, and related practices have long been used in the treatment of orgasm difficulty. Research suggests these approaches may improve sexual function, pleasure, and orgasmic response for some women.

4

Pelvic Floor & Somatic-Motor Learning

Pelvic-floor training has been associated with improved orgasmic response for more than 70 years. More recent research suggests that specific learned pelvic-floor movement patterns can also provide a pathway to orgasm without direct genital stimulation.

5

Tantra & Breath-Based Practices

Yoga, tantra, breathwork, and related practices may influence attention, bodily awareness, relaxation, and sexual response. Research has documented improvements in female sexual function and, in some cases, learned non-genital orgasmic response.

6

Altered-State Approaches Studied in Sexual Medicine

Historical research has also examined altered-state approaches, including psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, in women with longstanding sexual and orgasmic difficulty. These approaches remain areas of research rather than currently available FOTI programs.

Not every pathway may be appropriate for every woman, and not every pathway is currently offered through the Female Orgasm Training Institute.

Our goal is to develop programs and networks of specially trained practitioners as the research, protocols, and professional training for each pathway are established.

Becoming Orgasmic with Medical Cannabis

Becoming Orgasmic with Medical Cannabis is a 12-week program that brings together guided orgasmic-learning practices, medical cannabis, and individualized support from Genester Wilson-King, MD, FACOG — a physician specializing in medical cannabis and OB/GYN care — and Suzanne Mulvehill, PhD, a clinical sexologist and orgasmologist.

Hypnosis-Facilitated Orgasmic Learning

Professional training and practitioner development in hypnosis-facilitated orgasmic learning are currently in development.

As additional pathways become available, women will be able to find practitioners with specialized training in individual Orgasmic Learning approaches.

A Different Way of Thinking About Orgasm Difficulty

The question is not simply:

“Why can’t I orgasm?”

A more useful question may be:

“Through what conditions, states, practices, and pathways can my nervous system learn greater access to orgasmic response?”

That is the question at the center of Orgasmic Learning.
